Adaptation of the book by David Baddiel. The challenge of realising the human characteristics of the animals in Animalcolm. The sheep are represented as three girl singers wearing 1960s style sunglasses and bouffant hairdos. The chimps are a leather clad , spiked hair gang. To experience life from the position of animals on the farm and in the zoo and to realise that all nature must be respected. The set design was a series of mesh cages to represent the caged animals and also the fact that Malcolm finds himself trapped. The set could be climbed on and also opened up for the scenes outside. An arched structure was moved around to create gates and a climbing frame for the chimps.
